If you are worried now

Contact your treating team first and say what you have noticed, when it started, and which areas were treated. If the team cannot be reached, call the hospital main line. For a red-flag symptom — difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing, widespread muscle weakness, swelling of the lips or throat, or a drooping eyelid with double vision — go to the nearest emergency department immediately rather than waiting for a reply. This website is not an emergency channel and is not monitored as one.

When to come in

The assessment point matters as much as the assessment. A difference that is still settling at one week is examined but usually not acted on; a difference that is still obvious at two weeks, and again at four weeks, is a finding and is planned. If you are unsure which point you are at, say when you were treated and the team will tell you.

What to bring

Bring any record or card you were given, which usually carries the product and the dose, and say which areas were treated and when. Bring a list of your medication, and photographs taken over the days since treatment, which are often more informative than a description. If you do not know what was injected, say so.

What the assessment covers

The examination records the face at rest and in movement, where the two sides differ, and which muscle groups are producing the difference. You should leave with clear answers: whether what you are seeing is still the treatment settling or a finding, what can be done about it, when, and how long the current effect is expected to last.

Fees, records and privacy

This site does not quote prices, because the plan depends on the findings and is discussed directly at consultation. What was injected, what was found and what was decided is documented so that the record follows you. Clinical photographs are taken for planning and follow-up, and are not published or used for teaching without a separate consent you are free to refuse.
